Bruin Pride

“Nineteen of the 20 women on Sundhage’s roster also played for her in the 2011 World Cup in Germany, where the U.S. lost a dramatic final to Japan on penalty kicks. The exception is former UCLA standout Sydney Leroux, a 21-year-old forward and Vancouver native who played for Canada in the U-19 World Cup as a 14-year-old. Leroux’s mother is Canadian but her dad is an American, so Leroux is eligible to play for the U.S. team.”

^One of UCLA’s best female soccer players was the number 1 pick in the Women’s Professional Soccer league and was also recently selected for the National Team that hopes to qualify for the Olympics within the next couple of weeks.

A UCLA sophomore was #3 draft pick for Major League Soccer and a UCLA junior was #13. Four UCLA seniors were selected in the supplementary draft.

SO FREAKING PROUD to be a Bruin.

THANK GOD for whoever came up with the idea of curving classes.

Thank god for my teacher being maternal after giving birth.

Hard work and studying pays off every once in a while.

I have conquered you bio, ochem, and physics!

Honestly want to cry of happiness right now.

Or scream into a pillow. (Thanks Sahana)

Never been so happy to see grades.

Today was a good day.

Really good day.

:)

30 hours of hell

Started this morning at 8. 3 finals. In 30 hours.

Honestly felt like shit this morning and didn’t think I would make it through the final without having to bolt out because I felt that sick. I can’t remember what I wrote down on that final. It was like my hand was disconnected from my brain. I left an hour early because I couldn’t bring myself to think about the test anymore. Not gooooddd.

Two back to back tomorrow. LS and Chem. Ughhhh. I don’t know how I am going to do this.

Motivation for self: the amazing winter break that I have waiting for me.

Finish Friday. Spend the night in Diamond Bar at MCho’s place with Joanne, Chris, and Heidi. Fly home Saturday. Hibernate until Monday. Monday-Thursday have adventures in NorCal with MCho and rest. Friday (maybe even Thursday night?) visit Cal. Saturday-Wednesday semester people are home! Thursday leave for Orlando. Two weeks of the best vacation ever with family and Shilps’ family. Wednesday fly back. Thursday-Saturday chill and pack and chill some more. Saturday night back to LA. And Sunday to hang out before the quarter starts.

GO TIME.

Clearly not studying.
This is what we call PRODUCTIVITY.
Future roomies what up! Minus one. But she’s sleeping. So whatevs. It’s what I wish I was doing. Damnit.

UCLA Men’s Soccer makes me so happy! Heading to NCAA Championship Semifinals after a 1-0 win in second overtime.

Turns out I’m still alive after the minor heart attacks I suffered from during the game. NBD.

dlskfjkfdlj. YAY!

//end spaz attack.

Powernaps

Seriously the best thing ever. Not the shit where you say you’ll be up in 30 minutes and end up sleeping for days. I’m talking about the ones where you actually only sleep for like 20 minutes and wake up feeling fully rested and ready to go. Almost like you got a full night’s sleep.

Ochem come at me!

Randoms.

Since I had my facebook password changed for me, I’ve realized how much of a habit it is to just click on my facebook bookmark when I’m on the computer. I click but when it asks for my login I realize that I can’t. It’s pretttyyy sad.

Since facebook is gone though….more tumblr. LOL.

In other news, the UCLA football coach got fired. 50-0 against USC. Not a joke. And Diddy’s son committed to play for UCLA next year. Coooolll. My roommate hopes that this will mean good artist hookups for Bruin Bash LOL

Also, the US Women’s National Team for soccer is having training camp at the Home Depot Center which is a 30 minute drive from UCLA. Not having a car for this occasion is some sort of crime, I swear.

Penn Masala makes for good study music.

Edit: And apparently my tumblr posts no longer show up on facebook because of the password change. ghuud one.

Good Day Part 2

Another day that has made me realize how much I have to be thankful for. Honestly, today wasn’t about really big things, but the little moments of life adding up. I realize that I have to take 3 finals in less than 2 weeks but it is nice to have a day where I can just be brought back down to ground level to really appreciate what I have.

-Beautiful LA weather. It is the end of November and it was in the upper 70s/lower 80s. Flip flops are still good :)

-Skipping chem to sleep in. Thank god for podcasted classes.

-Did well on my physics midterm. Wasn’t sure how 3 midterms in a week was going to work out, but I guess not too shabby.

-Saw my favorite UCLA soccer player ;)

-Peer Learning session that makes LS oh so clear.

-Getting out of Peer Learning with just enough time to get food from BruinCafe before it closed so I didn’t have to eat greasy food from Cafe 1919 for lunch.

-Walking to Westwood and finding out the Mighty Boba truck was here. Got my boba fix. SO GOOD.

Now on to studying!

3 midterms? A1! No problem!
Monday: OChem. Tuesday: Cell and Molecular Bio. Friday: Physics.
The life of a premed. Coooolll.
Shoutout to Dorothy Lin and Jen Young for bringing me Volcano Tea for my caffeine needs!
Ready for another day of transcription factors, conservation of energy, and proton NMR!
